You need to send us DICOM files, DICOM files could be from medical CT scanners or dental Cone Beam CT, models and /or STL files of intraoral scan. It is important to give us additional information about the implant system you use. When we have all the information, we will give a call within 24 hours to set up time to share screen using teamviewer.com to review the plan.
It is very important that you give us about 1mm of space between the maxillary and mandibular arches. Also it is important to use cotton rolls in the area of interest, buccally and lingually. Doing this helps separate the tongue and check away from the gum tissue.
We always need DICOM files and preferably STL files from an intraoral scanner. If you can’t obtain digital impressions of your patient, traditional impressions are fine. Just mail them to us and we will digitally scan them at our imaging center.
You need to invest in a special guided surgery kit. Most implant companies have their own kits. These kits have a longer drill (up to 25mm with a stopper). The extra length is important to reach the desired depth while drilling. Cinzara offers a universal kit at a reasonable price for our clients.
If your patient is missing a lot of contiguous teeth it will be difficult to scan the soft tissue in the area of interest. In these cases, we recommend a dual scan.
In edentulous cases we recommend dual scan technique. You need to use special CT markers. The markers will stick/adhere to the dentures or flipper. You need to use at least 5 of them, we prefer odd numbers. These markers need to be placed randomly at different levels. The dual scan will be done by scanning the patient with the dentures and the markers, then scanning the denture with the markers in the same direction as it was in the patient mouth.
It is important to send us the DICOM files in two separate folders. It is very important to use the new denture or relined denture that will mimic the actual and final restoration. The printed surgical guide will match the denture.
Within 2-3 business days from receiving the files, our staff will call you to set a time for an on-line meeting. After finalizing the plan and obtaining your approval, we will send the information to our lab to print the guide. It should not take more than 5 business days to receive the guide by FedEx.
